TRIMMING PREGROOMING PROCEDURES

Some dogs get nervous when around new people. Many of them tremble out of anxiety. Also due to which they become conscious of themselves. Many dogs are even sensitive with their feet. But you need to work around the dog in the same way.

TRIMMING SENSITIVE PARTS -

Take a # 30 blade and a 10. Go to the side and remove a little bit of hair. Don’t make a monkey butt, removing a small portion of hair will also give you the opportunity to check for deep buries.

Trimming sensitive parts of dog

Understand the dog’s shape and length. Then lift the leg up, trim off the rectum and around her girl part (If Female Dog). Also, Trim in between the legs a little bit.

TRIMMING NEAR EYES & NOSE

A Lot of groomers are in habit of taking the clipper blade near the eyes and nose and trim from the top of the muscle. In some cases that is necessary but if the pet is well maintained and well groomed then you can use the Thinning shear and thin it near the eyes and nose. Skim out near the nose and then up to the stop. It gives the dog a softer look. Instead of having a fuzzy face, this shaved spot will give a nice and clean appearance.

TRIMMING IN AND AROUND EARS

Check the ears of dog if there is any infection or any parasites left. Take the hair out of the ear if the dog has any. All of this should be done before the bath so that you can put the cotton in the ears while bathing. Pack the dog ears with cotton before the bath. Prevent any water entering in the ears.

TRIMMING THE NAILS

Once all of the above procedures are done, in the end, get the nails done. It has to be done before the bath as some of the dogs don’t like to bathe or don’t like being dried-up and when you will bathing them, they might scratch you.

Use the Nail-trimmer. Key is to take the points off and make the shape round. Nice Rounded nails will give the dog a glam look and also this shape won’t scratch the groomer while bathing or drying.

Use different Clippers set for distinctive procedures. One for pre-grooming or prepping the dog and another for grooming. It will not only increase the life of the clipper and the blades but will also save quite a lot of time.
